Ternium Q1 2026: $3.93B sales and $213M parent profit as steel margins expand

Ternium S.A. reported first-quarter 2026 net sales of $3.934 billion, essentially flat versus $3.933 billion in Q1 2025, with gross profit rising to $686.9 million from $531.0 million and IFRS operating income reaching $290.1 million versus $131.8 million a year ago. Profit for the period was $372.4 million; earnings attributable to owners of the parent were $213.0 million, or $0.11 basic and diluted EPS on ~1.96 billion shares. The steel segment generated $3.814 billion of external sales and $272.0 million operating income on a management view; mining contributed $119.6 million external sales. Mexico remained the largest geography at $2.03 billion of sales. Net cash from operating activities was $217.3 million while capital expenditures totaled $405.9 million. Cash and equivalents were $1.62 billion at March 31, 2026. The quarter included a $47.5 million provision for ongoing Usiminas litigation and continued investment in Pesquería and Usiminas participation.
