DouYu narrows Q1 operating loss 84% as innovative business revenue surges 60%

DouYu International reported Q1 2025 net revenues of RMB947.1 million (US$130.5 million), down 8.9% year over year as livestreaming revenue fell 29.5% to RMB564.5 million amid fewer low-ROI activities and soft consumer spending. Gross profit rose 4.1% to RMB113.5 million with gross margin improving to 12.0%, and the operating loss narrowed 84.3% to RMB26.1 million. Net loss decreased 9.5% to RMB79.6 million while adjusted net loss fell 75.6% to RMB20.9 million. Innovative business, advertising and other revenues jumped 60.2% to RMB382.6 million, representing 40.4% of total revenue, led by voice-based social networking at RMB290.1 million. Average mobile MAUs were 41.4 million and quarterly average paying users were 2.9 million with ARPPU of RMB216. Cash and equivalents totaled RMB2.3 billion after a US$300 million special dividend in February.
