Q1 net loss of $23.3M on fair-value hit; adjusted income $4.9M as Toro loan repaid
Castor Maritime reported a difficult first quarter of 2025 with total revenues of $20.3 million, roughly flat year over year, but a GAAP net loss of $23.3 million versus net income of $22.3 million in Q1 2024. The loss was driven primarily by $26.4 million of unrealized fair-value losses on equity-method investments remeasured to period-end market values. Excluding those marks, adjusted net income was $4.9 million and adjusted EBITDA $9.9 million. Vessel revenues fell 45% to $11.3 million on fewer available days and softer dry-bulk rates, partially offset by $9.0 million from newly acquired MPC Capital asset-management services. Castor ended March with $78.3 million cash and fully repaid its $100 million Toro acquisition loan during 2025.
